Traveling Advocacy Program  

Advocates from PEACE will coordinate with local church pastors and leadership in order to give a presentation to their congregations.  This presentation will include information on what classifies as abuse in a relationship, recognizing signs of abuse and the role Christians have in standing against abuse.  Also incorporated will be specific Biblical standpoints on violence, marital relationships and submission principles.  The advocate will provide written resources to the congregation.  The church leadership will be given a list of community organizations that provide assistance to victims and perpetrators as well as information on the PEACE Biblical counseling and accountability program.  


Teaching

Adult Education Course

This course can be tailored for any local church, club, social group, lifegroup, Sunday school class, etc. that is interested in learning more about the issue of domestic violence and how they can help stand against it.

No Fear in Love Seminar 

Every February this seminar is held for local clergy and lay-leaders within the church.  Discussion focuses around defining domestic violence, recognizing signs of abuse, appropriate responses to abuse and the Biblical outlook on domestic violence. 

STATEMENT Teen Dating Abuse Course

STATEMENT is a nonprofit program out of Spokane, WA that provides resources for the prevention of teen dating violence.  PEACE will partner with STATEMENT to give presentations at local youth groups and schools.  Click here to visit the STATEMENT website.


Counseling

Accountability and Counseling for Offenders

PEACE hopes to offer an offenders group counseling program.  The curriculum will utilize the Power and Control wheel and focus on using scripture to move the offender from violence, rooted in power and control, to nonviolence, rooted in equality.
